Recently in Japan, a zoo started putting cardboard cut-outs of anime characters that were designed like said animals in order to increase publicity. People began to notice that a penguin named Grape-kun was just standing in front of the cut-out, and was skipping meals and other social interactions to spend time with the cut out. Pictures began to spread through the internet, and he quickly became the spotlight of tweets, memes, and news articles. Recently, the zookeepers noticed Grape-kun’s odd behavior, and put a fence between him and his one true love.

Grape-Kun separated from his wife.
