While the boys’ soccer team did not win their first five games of the season, they still have demonstrated a great sense of team spirit and displayed their skills on the field.  The team has played Saddle River Day, Tuxedo Park (twice), Alpine (twice), Dwight-Englewood, and Collegiate. The EMS soccer team lost five of the games, won one, and tied one.  However, EMS players overall scored many goals.

The boys’ soccer team only had about two weeks of practice to prepare for their first game against Tuxedo Park.  The team members seem proud of their hard work thus far.  Eighth grader Henry Maw said, “We haven’t won a lot, but we have tried hard.”  Eighth grader Max Louis added, “We improved our attitude, and we worked together.”    The team finally won a game against Alpine, but it was the rematch against Tuxedo Park that was the most meaningful to the team.  “Even though we lost against Tuxedo Park, we worked as a team and we enjoyed the game,” Michael Pizzillo said.

The soccer team will finish its season in November.
